United Veterans Beacon House, Inc. (UVBH) is a not-for-profit charitable organization established and incorporated in 1994. UVBH operates under Chapter 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code in New York State. Our mission is: To provide transitional and permanent housing to U.S. Military veterans. To provide emergency, transitional and permanent housing to men, women and women with children.

A great day connecting with Long Island veterans at the Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency Stand Down!

Our Beacon House team was on hand distributing essential supplies, sharing information about our housing and supportive services, and connecting veterans with available resources, including our Pro Bono Legal Clinic.

Events like these provide an important opportunity to engage directly with veterans, learn about their needs, and make sure they know where to turn for support.

Thank you to the Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency for bringing together so many organizations dedicated to serving Long Island’s veteran community.

🚨 Our Linen Closet is running low. 🚨

As the weather gets colder, we’re urgently seeking brand-new bedding for veterans in our housing programs.

A fresh set of sheets. A warm comforter. A new pillow. These may seem like simple essentials, but they can make a veterans transition into stable housing feel a little more like home.

A little look back to our back to school shopping event last month! 📚✏️

On August 27th, we helped 22 children of veterans get ready for the new school year by having them pick out everything they needed from new book bags to their favorite snacks.

The day was filled with smiles, excitement and back-to-school spirit! We’re so grateful to be able to give back and help veterans and their families when they need it the most. ❤️

That’s exactly what happened when The Pizzeria brought its employees, customers, vendors and friends together around Beacon House. What grew from that partnership is something we’re incredibly proud to share.

A new school year should start with confidence.

For 22 children from veteran families, back-to-school shopping came with a little less worry this year.

Through Beacon House’s UnMet Needs Program, parents were able to get their children what they needed for the year ahead, from school supplies and backpacks to clothing and everyday essentials.

Because supporting veterans also means being there for their families, especially in the moments that make everyday life a little more manageable.

Ready for school. Ready for what’s next.

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the first responders who answered the call with extraordinary courage.

Twenty-five years later, we honor their memory and reflect on the courage, unity and spirit of service that emerged in the days that followed and continues to inspire us today.

We will never forget.
