UPDATE - Oakland County SWAT has cleared and Darramoor Road has been reopened. We thank the public for being patient as the investigation commenced. Again, at no point was there a safety concern for residents of the neighborhood. The Oakland County SWAT team was requested out of an abundance of caution.

🚨 URGENT 🚨 The Bloomfield Township Police Department is conducting an investigation in the 6200 block of Darramoor Road. There is a heavy police presence, including Oakland County SWAT. They are there out of an abundance of caution during the investigation. There is no concern for safety of the public in the surrounding community.

🚨POLICE TRAINING 🚨K-9 Officers will be conducting training tonight (October 22) at Bloomin' East (1101 Westview Road) from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. There will be a large presence of police vehicles at the location. No emergency or active situation exists.

This November voters will have the opportunity to consider a bond proposal to build two new public safety buildings, including a new Police station. We are offering tours through October 29th so residents can see what the current station looks like.

🚧 Road Closure 🚧 Starting Tuesday, October 27, westbound Quarton Road will be closed between Cranbrook Road and Woodward Avenue. This closure will be in effect until November 30. Eastbound Quarton Road will remain open during this time.

The westbound Quarton Road detour is Woodward Avenue to Long Lake Road to Lahser Road and then back to Quarton Road.

The work being done at this time is part of the Bloomfield Township safety path and signal program.

Our three recent academy graduates were sworn in as Bloomfield Township Police Officers on Monday. They will finish up onboarding over the next two weeks before beginning their field training phase. We wish them great success in their future careers here at the police department!
