🌟 CUSTOMER SERVICE STAR – DEPUTY RUDY MORENO 🌟

The Colorado River Station would like to recognize Deputy Rudy Moreno for receiving the August 2026 Customer Service Star from Provident Bank!

After a citizen’s vehicle was recovered late at night, Deputy Moreno stayed with her while she waited for a tow truck that would not arrive until approximately 1 a.m. Rather than leave her alone in an unfamiliar location, he remained on scene to make sure she was safe.

The citizen later shared her appreciation for Deputy Moreno’s concern and commitment to keeping our community safe.

Outstanding work, Deputy Moreno! 👏⭐ This is a great example of what service to our community looks like.

🚸 SCHOOL ZONE SAFETY REMINDER 🚸

The Colorado River Station would like to remind drivers to STOP for pedestrians in crosswalks, especially during school drop-off and pick-up times.

Our school zones are extremely busy before and after school. Students and families are crossing the roadway while vehicles are arriving, departing, and often competing for limited space. As shown in this video, failing to stop at a crosswalk can create a dangerous situation in an instant.

🛑 Slow down. Pay attention. Stop for pedestrians.

Please be patient, stay off your phone, watch for students entering crosswalks, and never drive around a vehicle that has stopped for a pedestrian.

A few extra seconds behind the wheel is a small price to pay to make sure every student gets to and from school safely.

Drive like it’s your child in that crosswalk.

🚨 BURGLARY SUSPECTS ARRESTED 🚨

On September 13, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado River Station, responded to the 14000 block of Highway 95 in the unincorporated area of Blythe regarding a reported burglary.

Deputies determined the property had been vandalized and multiple high-value items had been stolen, including two high-performance jet boats.

During the investigation, deputies identified two suspects believed to be involved in the burglary.

On September 14, 2026, with assistance from the San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force, deputies served a search warrant in the 27000 block of 9th Street in Highland. Michael Dieffenbacher, 49, of Highland, was taken into custody without incident.

During the search, deputies located several stolen vehicles on the property, including one of the stolen high-performance jet boats, along with additional property stolen during the Blythe burglary. Dieffenbacher was booked into a San Bernardino County jail for burglary and additional felony charges.

On September 17, 2026, the San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force located the second suspect, Christopher Edward Mclemore, 42, of Highland. Mclemore was arrested and booked into a San Bernardino County jail on a warrant related to the burglary.

Both suspects face charges related to multiple crimes in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

This remains an ongoing investigation, and no additional details are being released at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact Deputy Franco or Investigator Pfohlman at the Colorado River Station at 760-921-7900.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND 2026 🇺🇸🚤

As another busy holiday weekend comes to a close, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office – Colorado River Station Marine Enforcement Unit would like to thank everyone who came out and enjoyed the Colorado River responsibly.

Throughout Labor Day Weekend, Marine Enforcement Unit deputies conducted high-visibility patrols focused on boating safety, education, and enforcement. Deputies contacted boaters throughout the river, conducted vessel inspections, assisted members of the public, and took enforcement action when necessary.

We are especially pleased to report zero reported boating accidents during the holiday weekend.

Whether you are behind the wheel of a vehicle or operating a vessel, impaired operation can have life-changing consequences. Thank you to everyone who wore their life jackets, designated a sober operator, maintained required safety equipment, and helped make the Colorado River safer for everyone.

The Marine Enforcement Unit remains committed to keeping the waterways within the Colorado River Station area safe through education, enforcement, and proactive patrol.

🇺🇸 Labor Day Weekend on the Colorado River 🚤

If your plans include boating, remember:

• Boat sober. Deputies will be looking for impaired boat operators.
• Wear a life jacket. Make sure everyone onboard has a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket.
• Operate responsibly. Slow down, stay alert, and maintain a safe distance from other vessels and swimmers.
• Report reckless or dangerous boating to law enforcement. Call 911 for emergencies.

Whether you’re boating, swimming, or spending time along the river, help us make this a safe Labor Day weekend for everyone.

Enjoy the river. Boat responsibly. Get home safe.

🏴‍☠️ A little enforcement, followed by some Pirate hospitality!

While visiting Palo Verde College, Deputy Ruvalcaba conducted a pedestrian check that resulted in the arrest of a subject with six outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

With business handled, there was still time to say hello to the Palo Verde College Pirates mascot—who was happy to report feeling safe and, fortunately, had no outstanding warrants. 😹🏴‍☠️

We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with our local schools and the community we serve. Stay safe, Pirates! 💙💛

Oh deer… 🦌🌊

Looks like someone decided the Colorado River was the quickest way across!

Deputies spotted this unexpected swimmer making its way across the Colorado River near Blythe. With no boat, no life jacket, and apparently no concern about the current, this local resident made the crossing the old-fashioned way. 😂

Just another reminder that you never know what you’ll see while working along the Colorado River.

Stay safe out there — on land and in the water! 🦌🌊
