You're invited to Friends of the Bridgeport Public Library for Annual Fall 🍂🍁 Book 📕 📚Sale!

Hours: Wednesday— Saturday 12- 5

One of the largest book sales in New England, the Book Sale draws book lovers and dealers from near and far with a selection of over 100,000 items in over 45 categories.

The sale is held in the Friends Garage Book Store at 255 State Street
Friends of the Bridgeport Public Library 📕📚

*This is one of our largest sales with offerings of a record number of books, CD’s, DVD’s, and LP’s.
* Most books – including almost all books under our large garage – are $5.00 or less many are one and two dollars. Many books are valued between 20 and $50 with something even in the hundreds of dollars

* For our discophiles, we have lots of vinyl records, including both 45’s and 33’s, mostly from the 1960’s to 1990’s.

* As always our selection of books for children of all ages is HUGE and some are from the library program of ‘A Thousand Books to Read Before Kindergarten’
(will give you a copy of the National library Associations list of 1000 Books to Read Before Kindergarten)

* We have a new category featuring books with decorative bindings. These books, including many leather bound, are great for display on shelves (even if you choose not to read them). We often get interior designers come in to decorate homes for sale. As long as you possibly A large part of our sales are to decorators just to fill bookshelves and houses that are being sold.

We have whole sections of romance novels, college textbooks, presidential biographies, in the banned book section !

And this year we will have nearly 500 “special” items – collectible books, a few maps, and a few vintage 1930’s posters.

Those items will be compiled in our Garage Store of those offerings.

Buyers this year will have an opportunity to examine them at the library from Wednesday—Saturday 12:00-4:00
Admission is free.

Arts Alliance of Stratford —

‼️Calling All Artists‼️

The Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) and the Housatonic Museum of Art are currently seeking to purchase artwork by Connecticut and tri-state regional artists for Beacon Hall at CT State Community College Housatonic in Bridgeport, CT. The committee is considering two-dimensional wall mounted works of art that are not light-sensitive (i.e., works on paper and certain textiles). Interior sculptural works may be considered.

💸Budget: up to $275,000 is available to purchase a wide range of artwork by several artists.
