We are excited to announce that a new aerial apparatus is on the horizon! This is an exciting step forward for our department and the community we are proud to serve.

A sincere thank you to everyone who helped make this investment possible, from our Truck Committee and both Fire Chiefs to Mayor Orcutt and all members of City Council. Your time, dedication, and support are greatly appreciated.

We look forward to getting behind the wheel of this new apparatus and continuing to provide our community with the highest level of service, safety, and professionalism.

Thank you for your continued support! We can’t wait to bring this new addition home! 🚒💪

Shortly after 0300 hrs this morning, BPFD E1, M1, C4, E2, and mutual aid companies responded to Remora Blvd. for a possible structure fire. Upon arrival of first due units, smoke was seen coming from the Charlie side of the house w/ elevated heat signatures noted within the structure via a Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC). 360 size up was completed by the Captain in charge, who also noted no vehicles in the driveway. On a side note, due to only one FF being off duty during this shift, C shift was operating with 9 members on duty, which was a huge advantage. Members were able to make forcible entry through the front door, initiate an interior attack w/ a 1 3/4” handline, and also begin conducting a primary search simultaneously. This would normally take more time to complete due to having to wait for mutual aid to arrive, but was able to all be done at once due to our staffing level yesterday. The fire was brought under control and extensive overhaul operations commenced. The entire residence was searched and no victims or pets were found inside. It was later to be determined that the house was being remodeled. There were no injuries reported on scene. Thank you to all of our mutual aid partners.

We had quite a bit happen over this past weekend…

First we kicked off Homeday’s weekend with the swearing in of our newest FF/Paramedic, Anthony Trainer! Anthony was sworn in by Mayor Orcutt on Kennedy Field prior to our softball game. Congratulations, Anthony!

Mayor Orcutt hung around to throw out the first pitch again before our game against MHFD.

BPFD and MHFD the squared off in our yearly softball game! It was a great game, but unfortunately MHFD was able to take the coveted “Axe” back from us for the year. MHFD pulled out a 8-5 victory. Congratulations to them, we will see you again next year!

Finally, Saturday was our annual open house at Station 1. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and came out to see us! Also, thank you to all the vendors and companies that brought out different vehicles and equipment! You all help make this event better year after year!

Stop up and see us for our annual open house on 7/11 at Station One! Come enjoy a tour of or equipment and station while you’re out for Homedays!

On a side note, the evening before 7/10, we will be beating….. I mean taking on MHFD in our annual soft ball rivalry to keep the cherished “Axe” where she belongs! Come, hang out, and watch some really mediocre softball!
