Sgt. Daniel Manzanares, a New York native, is being recognized as 1st Marine Corps District’s Marine of the Month for December for his hard work and dedication to the mission!

His job, as training chief, is responsible for ensuring all calendar and fiscal year trainings are completed and submitted through out all of 1MCD in order to meet the Marine Corps mandatory individual and education requirements.

Manzanares is also a Martial Arts Instructor Trainer as well as the 1MCD Color Sergeant representing the command with integrity and distinction.

“My favorite part of my job is being able to motivate and push the Marines around me to better their physical fitness” Manzanares said “we are not all built the same so just being able to guide a fellow Marine in the right direction makes it all worth it.”

November’s 1MCD Marine of the month

GySgt Walker Young, an Ashland, Kansas native, is being recognized as 1st Marine Corps District’s Marine of the Month for his hard work and dedication to the mission!
His Job as an Logistics/Mobility Chief provides critical logistics and operational support for the Eastern Recruiting Region. From supporting RS’s with Non-Tactical Vehicle request, upgrades and replacements to support recruiters making mission to assisting and training RS’s during our Train, Assist, and Evaluations to ensure 1st Marine Corps District as a whole is in compliance with the Marine Corps standards.

“As a Logistics Chief at 1MCD, I am motivated to come to work everyday knowing that my team and myself are enhancing the readiness and capabilities of the recruiting stations and contributing to the broader success of the recruiters within 1MCD.”
