🎃 Halloween is on Saturday! Remember to keep pathways clear! 🎃
Trick or Treating: Accessible Walkways
- Trick or Treating should be fun for all - so keep your pathways clear.
- A clear path that is at least 36 inches wide greatly increases access for people with disabilities.
- Decorations and plantings should not protrude into travel routes.
- Ensure adequate lighting to reduce the risk of falls.

IF ADA-ACCESSIBLE SERVICE IS NEEDED...
Metro Bus Route 8 will be FREE to ride in downtown Buffalo between the areas of Allen Station and Canalside Station.
When boarding Metro Rail underground and traveling to Church, Seneca or Canalside, please board the rear car of the train. This will ensure your train car opens to an elevated platform at the station.
If you board at Fountain Plaza or Lafayette intending to travel to Church, Seneca or Canalside, you first must enter an outbound train and travel to Allen. After arriving at Allen, you must exit, then enter the rear car of an inbound train in order to ride to your intended destination.

We expect this phase of construction to be completed by the end of November. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these necessary upgrades and adjustments to improve our rail service.

🚨 SINGLE TRACKING & DL&W CLOSURE 🚨

Starting November 1, single tracking will take place across two sections of the Metro Rail line.

🚈 At Church, Seneca and Canalside stations, riders traveling in either direction will be asked to board on the OUTBOUND side of the tracks.

🚈 At Humboldt, Delavan, Utica, Summer-Best and Allen stations, riders traveling in either direction will be asked to board on the INBOUND side of the tracks.

❌ During this time, DL&W Station will be closed in order to ensure that trains arrive at all other stations every 20 minutes.

These temporary adjustments are being made in order to facilitate tunnel and radio system upgrades, as well as continued rehabilitation of Church Street Station.

Thee adjustments also allow for the City of Buffalo to work on its Cars Sharing Main Street Project.

You are invited to participate in a Community Engagement Studio. A Community Engagement Studio is a discussion of a topic, in which you give feedback from your perspective to improve research and make it meaningful to the community. Alcohol use disorder may be treated by certain diabetes medicines, such as GLP1. Who may benefit from this treatment and why? We want to learn from you.
Who are we looking for?
Adults 30 to 75 years old with lived experience of alcohol use struggles, and Community organizations or leaders/advocates on alcohol use disorder.
What will you do?
Serve as a community expert, listen to a 15-minute presentation from researchers, share your thoughts and ideas about alcohol use disorder treatment options, offer insight into your lived experience and journey with alcohol use disorder, and receive $50 after the studio is completed.
