It has been a big week of accomplishments this week for our high school athletes and coaches!

Girls golf wrapped up their season with a 4th place finish at 4A state on Tuesday!
Medalists:

Macy Miller - 19th

Girls cross country won 4A substate Saturday which qualifies the team for state next weekend.

Buhler Grade School 5th graders under the direction of Shelly Cole performed the National Anthem last night at the Wichita Thunder game.

Buhler Families and Community,

The tragedy on Saturday at Stryker Sports Complex has affected the McPherson community in an unfathomable way with the devastating loss of two lives. During this difficult time, we lift up our neighbors in prayer and stand ready to support their community and school system in whatever way they need in the days and weeks ahead. We may be rivals on the field, but off the field, we are neighbors, colleagues, and friends.

Buhler youth soccer teams were on nearby fields preparing to compete at the time. All of our young athletes were safe and able to exit the area without incident. Buhler Schools has gathered a list of students from our youth soccer coaches that were at the complex Saturday. Although most students didn’t witness the event, they they may need support processing things they heard or saw. Counselors will be available at our school buildings for any students or staff who need support processing this event.

Join us as we pray for the soccer community, first responders, our parents who helped at the scene, and McPherson.

Congratulations to our directors and musicians! Buhler High School band won the KBA Small School (1A-4A) Marching Competition. They also won:
Outstanding Music
Outstanding Visual
Outstanding General Effect
Outstanding Percussion
Outstanding Color Guard

Next up for the band will be the KBA Open Class competition!

Buhler Girls Tennis Team brought some hardware home from the 4A state competition in Topeka. Congratulations to our exceptional coaches and athletes!

The Buhler girls tennis team competed at the 4A State tournament Friday and Saturday in Topeka and came back with lots of hardware, including the 3rd place team trophy!!

In singles, Sofia Spies captured 2nd place for the 3rd year in a row.

Addy Tech won her 1st match on day 1 before eventually being eliminated, but helped the team cause by earning a point.

And in doubles, Emily Allen and Ella Gillespie placed in the top 10, finishing in 9th place!

Board of Education meetings are the second Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Burkholder Administrative Center in Buhler.

Our Cru Leaders are having a great day learning about and practicing leadership skills at the Cosmosphere today!

Cru Leaders are 4th and 5th graders who completed an application process and were selected to represent their peers throughout the year. Their staff sponsors help them serve their school in various ways, chief among them being a positive influence and working to make sure nobody is left out.

Thank you to the Cosmosphere for planning some rigorous challenges that require all sorts of leadership to be successful. Also thank you to our teacher sponsors: Mrs. Clough and Mr. Cherry at UV, Mrs. Bauer and Mrs. Schmucker at PCE, and Mrs. Engelken and Mrs. Gould at BGS.

If you see a Cru Leader out and about make sure to introduce yourself and shake their hand, they'll know just what to do! 😉
