Silvies River Charter School is a free, K-12 Virtual Charter School that is regionally accredited by AdvancED. Silvies River Charter School is available to all students in Oregon. We offer an interactive and individualized learning environment to all students. Students and families can utilize our fully virtual curriculum and/or families can choose to educate their children with support of our teachers through participation in our alternative curriculum option.

We had the best day at the Prineville Learning Center celebrating Halloween/Fall Festival. We had almost 30 students join us for crafts, games, yummy treats and a movie. Fun was had by teachers and parents dressing up 80’s style!

Here at Silvies every student is a champion in their own right. However, many might not know that there is a World Champion amongst us. Sophomore Tucker Bailey, out of Hines, OR, was one of only four Oregon athletes who qualified for the Junior Roughstock Association World Finals in Wickenburg, AZ the first week of October. Tucker qualified for the senior ranch bronc division. When the dust settled, Tucker was the only rider to cover all three of his broncs. This earned him the World Champion Title! One of our Silvies teachers, Ms. Rysdam was there and was able to watch this incredible moment unfold. These students are putting Silvies on the map. Congratulations Tucker! We are so proud of you!

It was a full house for the Ontario LC Halloween party today. Over 45 students in grades K -5th showed up in their costumes ready for the festivities. Mr. Chance was the MC of the costume parade. He announced each student one at a time. He then had them explain their costumes, then do a walk and a slow spin to allow everyone the opportunity to show off all aspects of their costumes.

Costume Winners:
K - 1st Grade - Layla dressed up as Whiskers the cat
2nd - 3rd Grade - Ariah dressed up as Goddess (This is her 2nd year in a year row winning best costume)
4th - 5th - Raelynn- dressed as a witch

Students enjoyed doughnuts and chocolate milk after the costume parade. Fun was had by all.

On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, a group of secondary students along with the entire teaching staff of the Ontario LC hit the Nampa Rollderdome for two hours of fun. Students could choose between regular skates or in-line skates. For many, this was their first time skating. Two hours went by in a flash with regular skate, reverse skate, limbo contest, etc. Addie Starr won the limbo contest and won a fun prize. It was a great time spent with the older students.

Attention Silvies River Charter School families! Registration for Quarter 2 classes is officially live TODAY, Friday, October 23rd!

Explore our statewide Face-to-Face, Virtual, and Hybrid course options. Sort and filter easily by Grade Level, Student Learning Center/Region, Day/Time, or Teacher to build your ideal schedule.

Sign-ups open in staggered windows based on the highest grade level offered in each course:

🔹 Grade K–2 Classes: Open NOW (12:00 PM Noon)

🔹 Grade 3–5 Classes: Opening at 1:00 PM

🔹 Grade 6–12 Classes: Opening at 2:00 PM

Nothing beats a trip to the Pumpkin Patch to get in the spirit of the season. On Thursday, October 22, 2026 a group of 50 SRCS students along with siblings, parents, and staff enjoyed the morning at Montgomery Farms. A zip-line, corn maze, tractor rides, ping-pong, petting zoo, and slide kept everyone entertained and happy. The sun came out and it was the perfect weather for all the attractions.

Silvies River Charter School has a group of exceptional cowgirls and cowboys. Another student making a name for herself is Ella McConnell, from Jordan Valley, OR. Over the weekend, Ella was entered in the Southern Idaho Barrel Racing Association Finals in Twin Falls. This prestigious event drew 300 entries. When the dust cleared, Ella walked away with over $1300 in winnings and was crowned the winner of the 2D. Congratulations Ella!!
