"My School District sent me a Notice of Meeting telling me that an IEP meeting had been scheduled for a time and date that I could not attend. The case manager didn't even call or email me ahead of time to see if that date would work for my schedule! I went to a Free MODE Advocacy Clinic and they taught me that IEP meetings are mandated to be scheduled at a MUTUALLY AGREEABLE time between parents and school. Also, I learned that caselaw favors the parents' schedule as priority. MODE taught me how to file a state child complaint on the school's procedural violation so that the meeting would be rescheduled to a time that worked for me to be present and participate." - Moberly, MO Parent
