It is with great sadness that the Camden County Department of Corrections shares the passing of Correctional Police Sergeant Joseph Christinzio.

Sergeant Christinzio began his career in September 2014 and served this department and the community with distinction, dedication, and honor for more than twelve years. Throughout his career, he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to this department and exemplified the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. His absence will be profoundly felt by everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

On behalf of the entire Camden County Department of Corrections team, we extend our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his wife, Lindsay, and the rest of the Christinzio family, as well as to his friends and colleagues affected by this tragic loss.

Yesterday, we had the distinct pleasure of surprising Captain Forrest as she prepares to retire after 25 years of service to the Camden County Department of Corrections. Thank you for your dedication, commitment, and unwavering resilience to this department. We congratulate you on your achievements and wish you continued success in this next chapter of your life.

We will certainly miss Captain Forrest! 💛

Officer Aviles and Officer Elsea are attending the Camden County College Public Safety Expo, which is currently taking place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Atrium of the Connector Building on the Camden County College Blackwood campus. We are thrilled to announce that our Reentry and Social Services Unit has partnered with to provide consistent care and support for the residents of the Camden County Correctional Facility.

Maryville Integrated Care has been delivering rehabilitation services to the Camden County community for over 75 years. Their outstanding work has allowed them to expand their services, facilities, and team while remaining committed to their mission of improving health and wellness in our communities. We are excited to collaborate with them and welcome them aboard!

We are pleased to announce our upcoming Community Reentry Book Club meeting! We invite all community members to join us in a welcoming environment to discuss topics related to incarceration, reentry, and second chances.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9th, at 7:00 PM. It will be held at the M. Allan Vogelson Camden County Library Branch, located at 203 Laurel Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043. Everyone is encouraged to attend, listen, and participate in the discussion.

Books for next month's meeting will be available upon arrival.

Yesterday, we had the distinct privilege of participating in the annual "Touch-A-Truck" event, hosted by Larc Norcross School in Bellmawr, NJ. We sincerely appreciate the Larc School for inviting us and our K9 Dori, as well as providing us the opportunity to meet and engage with their students!
