đźš‘ COMMUNITY NOTICE: MULTI-AGENCY TRAINING EXERCISE đźš‘
On Monday, November 2, Kershaw County EMS units will join the Kershaw County School District, local law enforcement, and area fire departments for an active shooter response training exercise at Lugoff-Elgin High School from 7:30 AM until 12:00 PM.
Joint exercises like this allow our pre-hospital providers to practice rapid triage, coordinated tactical response, and unified command alongside our fellow public safety partners in realistic conditions.
What you need to know:
* THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. There is no actual emergency, incident, or active threat to the public.
* Routine EMS operations will not be affected. 911 emergency medical coverage across Kershaw County will remain at full operational capacity throughout the morning.
* All Kershaw County school campuses are closed to students on Monday for a scheduled Professional Development Day, and the Lugoff-Elgin High School grounds will remain closed to all visitors during the drill.
* Increased emergency presence:
Neighbors and drivers along Highway 1 and nearby roadways will see and hear a heightened presence of ambulances, police cruisers, fire apparatus, and first responders.
We thank the Lugoff-Elgin community for your support and patience as we train together to protect our schools and residents.
