This just in! 📣

Coastal Mountains Land Trust is under contract to purchase Blueberry Hill (also known as Patterson Hill) – a 248-acre property in the southwest corner of Belfast that holds a special place in the community.

At an elevation of 748 ft, it stands as the highest point in the City and offers panoramic views of Penobscot Bay and the surrounding landscape.

We’ve heard from so many community members who care deeply about the future of this property, and we’re excited about the opportunity to permanently protect Blueberry Hill and keep community access open.

Stay tuned for more information as we develop our plans. Thank you for sharing our excitement about the future of Blueberry Hill! 🫐

🟧 Reminder that fi***rm hunting for whitetail deer has started and if you’re in the woods it’s a good idea to be wearing some blaze orange. Most of our preserves are open to hunting and checkout website before heading out for an adventure to be sure. Reminder that there is no hunting allowed on Sunday in Maine. 🟧

Mark your calendar for the two-day Maine Youth Deer Hunt!

📅Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24

A youth hunt is all about mentorship. Focus on the experience, not the harvest. Celebrate the small wins. Bring snacks. Keep the day short. Prioritize safety and learning. This is your chance to reconnect, share your passion, and support conservation as a two generation team.

From preparation and places to go, to tips for success in the field, we're here to help Maine families make memories outdoors. Find youth hunting resources at mefishwildlife.com/youthhunt.

Golden hour at the foot of Mt. Battie.

Did you know that Coastal Mountains Land Trust holds two conservation easements on the face and summit of Mt. Battie? Decades ago, the Land Trust worked quickly to keep the side of Mt. Battie from being logged… and donated the south face of the mountain to the State Park, but retains an easement ensuring its long term protection.

🌧️ Rain, rain, go away… we need clear skies for this event!

Kites & Ice Cream has been postponed to Saturday, October 10 — same time, same place! 🪁🍦 Join us at Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport from 1:30–4 p.m. for an afternoon of kite flying, ice cream, and fun on the Hill.

Registration is still open and available on the homepage of our website (link in bio). All ages welcome, but please leave your dogs at home.

Stay dry this weekend, and we’ll see you on the Hill in a couple of weeks!

What a wonderful evening!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Camden Hills State Park last night for our 2026 Annual Meeting! It was a joy to gather with and celebrate the members, volunteers, and friends who make our work possible.

Congratulations to our 2026 award recipients:
