One of our favorite mornings of the school year is coming up!

On Tuesday, November 10, we will welcome veterans to Giant City School for our annual Veterans Day Program and Breakfast. It's a special opportunity for our students and staff to personally thank those who have served our country, and we hope to have a great turnout!

We invite veterans and their spouses who live in the Giant City School District or have a close relative attending GCS to join us. Breakfast and the program will begin at 8:00 AM, but our guests are welcome to arrive as early as 7:50 AM.

If you have a veteran in your family who would like to attend, please call the school at (618) 457-5391 by Thursday, November 5. We do need to stick to that deadline so we can make sure we have enough food and seating for everyone.

Please help us spread the word to the veterans in our Giant City family. We would love to have them join us!

To all of our veterans, thank you for your service. We look forward to honoring you on November 10!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and it's that time of year again! We're partnering with Sherwood Farms for their amazing holiday products.

If you ordered last year, you know the quality, beautiful wreaths that lasted all season long.

Get your orders in by Sunday, November 8, and help support Giant City Boosters.

Ms. Apgar: "Dr. Mason, you need to post your Principal Appreciation graphic!"

Me: "Can't I just print it out and stick it on my bulletin board instead?"

Apparently, that wasn't an option. So here we are again... me, posting a picture of me, celebrating me. At this point, I should probably start invoicing for my own PR services.

All jokes aside, a big thank you to Ms. Apgar and everyone at Giant City School. I really am lucky to work with such an awesome staff, even if they keep forcing me into these self-directed photo shoots.

Have a great weekend, and please come out tomorrow for the Hooptacular Tournament and Pancake Breakfast!

Fall Spirit Week is coming to Giant City next week!

We've got quite the lineup planned! Pajamas on Monday, apples vs. pumpkins on Tuesday, farmer or fancy on Wednesday, football on Thursday, and Halloween on Friday.

I'm personally looking forward to seeing who takes the "fancy" part of Wednesday a little too seriously. I'm sure we won't be disappointed.

Parents, here's your heads-up so nobody is scrambling to put together an outfit at 7:30 in the morning. Not that that's ever happened before...

And don't forget, Friday is an 11:30 dismissal!

Should be a fun week at Giant City!

A great send-off for our Giant City Cross Country Team today! Our students and staff lined the halls to cheer them on as they head to State tomorrow!

Good luck to our girls team, Ryker, and Coach Gregory! We’re proud of you! Go Giants!

Well, this is a little awkward.

Apparently, it's Boss' Day, and Mrs. Honza has made it clear that I'm supposed to post this. Nothing quite like being asked to publicly celebrate yourself!

In all seriousness, thank you to Mrs. Honza for organizing everything and to our teachers and staff for the kind gesture (and the cake!). I'm pretty fortunate to work with such a great group of people, even if they occasionally put me in situations like this.

Now, if we could all just pretend I didn't post my own Boss's Day picture, I'd appreciate it!

Have a great weekend! ~Dr. Mason
