The Citizens Patrol are the extra eyes and ears of the Carrollton Police Department.

They have uniforms, patrol in city-owned marked cars and carry Police issued radios. Patrol members are constantly on the lookout for potential problems and criminal activity, which are reported directly to Dispatch.

Caught some of our Citizens on Patrol member doing handicap parking enforcement. Many people don’t know that once you are trained in this, our volunteers can actually write tickets for handicap parking violations. That takes a small burden off of our police officers because a volunteer can actually handle those calls if they happen to be out when they come in. Happy to report there were no violations there.

Our volunteers have been busy these last few days with the 4year anniversary of the loss of our beloved Officer Steven Nothem II EOW 10/18/22. There have been a lot of tears and a lot of smiles and laughs through this weekend. Today is the Golf Tournament. Please be assured that the 3 Nations Brewing Co. beers that our volunteers are displaying are for the participants of the golf tournament and not our volunteers. They are professionals and are on duty.

Russell & JoAnn are just like the post office… neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow shall stop the water runs!!! The police officers love their water!!

Spanish Speaking Citizens Police Academy Class #9 had their start last night. There were a lot of laughs and a tour of the PD. They have a great group of volunteers already hard at work from the earlier classes. Thank you for the extra pictures Russell.

If you are ever in the PD on Thursday morning during football season you will see Miss Judy in all her Green Bay glory!! We don’t complain (much) because she is one heck of a volunteer and has been doing this for a very long time and truly helped mold our program to what it is today!!

Our volunteers just don’t stop!! Here they are helping with the retired officer’s qualification training. You can see some volunteers cooking, some serving & some just hanging out. Thank you Russell for the awesome pictures and the beautiful view of the moon peaking over the PD!!

Early yesterday our daughter called me and asked what was up with Marsh Lane, it was shut down. Turned out a car hit a power pole and it took all day and into the evening for the electric company to get it fixed and get the road completely open. Our volunteers were there the whole time in shifts. Big Thank You to Kathren and Mike for taking first 6 hrs of down power lines road closure. Kirk did the last leg of shut down and Russell was there as well mid day. We replaced 2 officers for 12 hrs, well done. Russell, as always, thank you for the pictures.
