We tried to hold Ilhan Omar accountable.

Democrats and Republicans blocked our effort to censure her. The same thing happened when we tried to subpoena her immigration records.

Washington protected its own.

Now federal agents are investigating potential immigration-related crimes involving Omar and her family.

Did she marry her brother? Were her immigration records falsified?

The questions did not disappear. They got louder.

And the plot thickens...

They detect deadly drugs and explosives. They track dangerous suspects. They protect the officers beside them. K-9s save lives.

We introduced the FETCH Act to ensure existing federal grants can support these heroes with training, equipment, veterinary care, and retirement support.

They never hesitate to protect us. We must never hesitate to protect them.

Under the Obama administration, federal investigators reportedly found “some evidence” Ilhan Omar had entered a SHAM marriage with her brother.

Prosecutors reportedly declined to pursue charges because the five-year statute of limitations had expired.

So federal investigators were looking at these allegations YEARS ago. And she's still serving our nation.

We tried to censure Omar and subpoena her immigration records. Both efforts were blocked by both parties in Congress.

Now the investigation is back in the headlines.

How many times were the questions raised, and how many times were answers blocked?

No one is above the law.

Our No Immigration Without Assimilation Act says if you reject American values, you don’t get to come here. DHS would screen every applicant through interviews, a review of public statements, and conversations with people who know them to determine whether they are committed to becoming Americans.

Support Sharia over the Constitution? Advocate religiously or politically motivated violence? Reject constitutional rights for others? Refuse to learn English or embrace American civic principles? You don’t get to come here. If you’re already here and refuse to assimilate, you’re deportable.

When the federal government releases an unaccompanied child to a sponsor, it is responsible for knowing exactly where the child is and who the child is with. Every single time.

Our No More Missing Children Act creates an Anti-Trafficking Program to stop alien children from being trafficked or lost. Before any child is released, every sponsor and every adult in the household must be extensively vetted: an in-person home inspection, FBI and terrorism screening, and s*x offender and child abuse checks. Anyone claiming to be a parent or relative must prove it with DNA.

We’re making sure gang members, cartel associates, terrorists, and s*x offenders cannot get their hands on these children.

Once a child is placed, the oversight continues. GPS monitoring. Monthly check-ins. Quarterly re-vetting. Unannounced home visits. If a child may be in danger, the government takes the child back immediately.

These children are vulnerable, alone, and depending on us to get it right.
