Halloween events can lead to high foot traffic in local parking lots and business entrances across Tennessee. With extra families and young pedestrians out enjoying the season, drivers need to slow down, eliminate distractions, and stay vigilant, especially when pulling in or backing out of parking spaces.

If you’re walking or taking family to a fall event:
Always stick to marked crosswalks or designated walkways.
Make sure you and your children are visible as it gets dark earlier.
Assume drivers don't see you until you make eye contact.

Rescued this little guy this afternoon in the middle of Hwy 48 near Spann Funeral home. He was soaking wet. He appears to be an older Chihuahua very gentle. He is at the Humane Society and be scanned for a chip later in the evening. If you have any information on the owner have the contact the Humane Society. Thank you to all the motorists that stopped and helped.

It might be tempting to move your child into a forward-facing car seat early, but experts say keeping your child in a rear-facing seat for as long as possible, up to the limits of the car seat, is the best way to keep your child safe and prevent a traumatic injury in the event of a crash.
