Healing Vine Harbor, Inc.
We are dedicated to empowering and uplifting women. We offer workshops teaching independent living skills. Our goal is to open a residential program.
We need your help to help the hurting. Healing Vine Harbor (HVH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves at risk women (ages 18 and older) who are not prepared for independent living. Because they have aged out of the foster care system, their homes or current housing situation, they are no longer safe or stable. They lack preparation or resources for the future and end up in shelters, j

We’re raising $20K in order to serve 20 women. Will you join us?
Every gift, from $50 to $5,000, helps ensure that the next woman who needs us finds us ready.
$150 covers emergency childcare costs so a woman can attend critical appointments or interviews
$400 covers a month of transportation — often the difference between keeping a job and losing it
$1,000 covers emergency utility support or a security deposit gap — keeping a woman housed through a critical moment
$2,500 provides comprehensive housing stabilization support for one woman navigating a setback

She came in guarded. Today she knows she can make it.
A year ago, Vanessa came to Healing Vine Harbor in a transitional housing program — discouraged and not sure who to trust.
Here’s what she told us: “HVH has taught me that even though changes may come, I can stay focused, use my resources, and not shut down.”
Recently, Vanessa was laid off. Before HVH, that would have sent her spiraling. Today, she has the tools, the community, and the stability to keep going — for herself and for her grandchildren. That’s what this work is for. 🌿
Together, we ascend - and this Healing Vine Harbor Day, we’re climbing toward $20,000. Will you join us?

Today, we celebrate:
The impact we made in the last year: 28 women who stayed housed and the 15 clients who were able to maintain full-time employment with health benefits.
The mentors who showed up.
The donors who believed.
The community that said: no one faces this alone.
And today, we ask you to be part of what comes next.
Give at healingvineharbor.kindful.com to help us meet our goal of raising $20K to serve 20 more women. And share this with someone who cares.
Together, We Help Them Ascend!

For the second year in a row, our Board President Alicia is walking alongside our Healing Vine Harbor ladies in a “12-Week Year” goal-setting journey.
The three real and practical goals:
• teaching my child to be more independent so I can breathe a little easier
• eating healthier
• working toward the promotion I deserve
• getting my driver’s license
• managing my money more effectively
Over 12 weeks, they’ll meet weekly to stay accountable, encourage one another, and remind each other that growth doesn’t have to happen alone.
This is what support looks like and this is how small, consistent steps can lead to lasting change.
Comment below with your words of support for our ladies! 💜

✨ Participant Spotlight: Ty ✨
When Ty set out to find a new career, she was looking for something many of our participants seek: stability, growth, and opportunity. Through a connection with Healing Vine Harbor, Inc. in Charlotte, she found her way to Entryway… and the door opened for her.
Once she completed Entryway’s online training, Ty immediately leveraged what she learned. She first stepped into a Saturday temporary role where she staffed a property on her own, putting her training to the test.
“The training gave me a jump start over other candidates… I had all the tools I needed to give eight tours a day and work with maintenance.”
Last July, Ty’s confidence and preparation helped her land a Leasing Professional position with Continental Realty Corporation where in just nine months she has already:
✔️ Exceeded her closing rate goals
✔️ Earned an early raise
✔️ Built industry connections through the Charlotte Apartment Association
What stands out most is her growth mindset. With support from a mentor and the Entryway North Carolina team, Ty is already setting her sights on becoming a Property Manager, and she’s paying it forward by sharing job opportunities with future participants.
“I’m an introvert, but I’m good at engaging. Entryway gave me confidence. Nine months in, and I haven’t had one curveball I wasn’t prepared for.”
Ty’s story is a powerful reminder: when preparation meets opportunity, transformation follows. 💙

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate Charlotte Hawkins Brown — an educator and visionary who believed opportunity changes everything.
In the early 1900s, at a time when doors were closed for many women and Blacks, she founded the Palmer Memorial Institute in North Carolina — creating pathways for Black students to access education, leadership development, and economic mobility.
The institute gained full accreditation and international acclaim as a model for African American education.
She didn’t just teach academics.
She built confidence, structure, and community.
At Healing Vine Harbor, we build opportunity by connecting women to mentorship, education, life skills through TALK workshops, and relationships that expand their networks and social capital.
Legacy isn’t only about the past. It’s about what we choose to build today.
✨ What are you building today that will leave a legacy for future generations?

💜 With Respect and Remembrance 💜
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Americo “Louie” Questell on December 1, 2025. Louie was the beloved father of our Executive Director, Tracey Questell.
Louie was a man defined by compassion, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family and to others. He spent more than 35 years serving people in their most vulnerable moments as a psychiatric nurse, and he showed up in the same way for his family, friends, and community, always with patience, kindness, and love.
Louie’s legacy lives on in the way Tracey leads Healing Vine Harbor and in the care, dignity, and hope we strive to offer every woman we walk alongside.
We invite you to hold Tracey, her mother Connie, and their entire family in your prayers, thoughts, and hearts during this time. Your love and support mean more than words can express.
As Louie’s favorite singer, Johnny Mathis, reminds us: life is a song worth singing. Louie’s song will continue to echo through the lives he touched. 💜
If you feel called, memorial donations may be made to Healing Vine Harbor in honor of Louie’s life, helping us continue this work with compassion and care.
