It is always a great day when you get to meet Chicago's school children and talk about Sweden. Probably not the best idea to make blue and yellow pompoms, but the kiddos got an A+ in patience. I am very thankful to Kristoffer Nordfeldt who kept them entertained in goal. 💛⚽️⚽️💙

This is very interesting, but we will take this opportunity to add some information about the upcoming election and how this works;

👉 Sweden has a multi-party system and currently 8 parties have seats in the Parliament. 💡A party has to earn a minimum of 4 % of the votes in the country or at least 12 % in a district to be assigned seats.

👉The seats are assigned proportionally between the political parties. 10 % of the votes basically equals 10 % of the MPs.

👉In the 2022 election the election participation was 84.21 %.

👉Next election will take place on September 13, 2026. If you are a Swedish citizen living in the US and have the right to vote you can do so by mail or by voting early at one of the many election sites. To learn more about the upcoming election visit www.val.se.
