Northwest Fire Protection District Responds to Structure Fire on Pine Cove Road Edwards MO
On Thursday, October 29, 2026, at approximately 11:32 a.m., the Northwest Fire Protection District was dispatched by Camden County Communications to a reported small natural cover fire in the backyard of a residence on Pine Cove Road. The first Northwest Fire unit arrived on scene at 11:45 a.m., approximately 13 minutes after the initial dispatch, and discovered a working structure fire with the residence already heavily involved. The responding unit immediately requested an upgraded structure fire response and additional resources. Mutual aid was requested from Deer Creek Volunteer Fire Protection District , Mid-County Fire Protection District, Southwest Camden County Fire Protection District , and Coffman Bend Fire Association for additional personnel and water tankers.
As additional Northwest Fire personnel arrived, crews began simultaneous fire suppression operations on both the structure and the surrounding natural cover fire. Due to the challenging terrain, location of the residence, and difficulties establishing a sustained water supply, firefighting operations were particularly challenging. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of responding firefighters, the residence was a total loss. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Northwest Fire Protection District responded with eight personnel and extends its sincere appreciation to all responding firefighters and our mutual aid partners for their assistance, professionalism, and continued dedication to protecting our communities.
