Thank you so much to New Hope Lutheran Church in Irmo who allowed us to be part of their fall festival a couple weeks ago. This family-friendly event offered games, hayrides, and bounce houses -and lots of wonderful food and craft vendors. We were excited to meet so many church and community members, and share a little bit about Birthright’s mission in the Midlands. Many inquired about how they could get involved -and we love to hear that! Thanks for having us NHLC -we hope to be back next year!

Our sweet interns from USC College of Nursing have been busy preparing for our community baby shower! We are all so excited to shower our clients with tons of goodies (and necessities!) for their babies and some treats for mom, as well ☺️ if you haven’t registered, it’s not too late. The deadline is this Friday, October 30. Make sure you call us by then! Participation is FREE for all clients.

One of our sweet interns is seen here, posing with the generous donation we received recently from the Our Lady of the Hills women’s group. This group hosted a baby shower for us, and collected all of these much-needed baby health care items. In addition, they all dressed in pink and blue to show their love for our sweet babies. 🩷💙 We are so incredibly blessed by the support from our community!

Last month, Birthright of Columbia participated in the Infant and Maternal Mortality Symposium & Luncheon with Prisma Healthy Start. Tiffanie was asked to be part of the candle lighting ceremony, which honors those we have lost. We were fortunate to be able to connect with so many of our colleagues and resources partners -and even got to catch up with a few former clients and their babies! It’s always a great day when we get to love on our “Birthright Babies.” 🩵💙🤍

We need our village! Our Fall Community Baby Shower is coming up on November 8, and we are seeking donations to fill our sweet client's gift bags. We especially need baby toiletries (shampoo, body wash, lotion) diaper rash cream, onesies, sleepers, washcloths, towels, blankets and infant caps. We need these items in STANDARD sizes - not travel sized and not XXL. Items can be dropped off at our office, or shipped directly to us via Amazon! (Check out our wish list, on our website.) We can't thank you enough for all you do to support Birthright in its mission to help pregnant women and their babies here in the Midlands.

Are you a soon to be mom in Columbia? Are you registered for our Fall Community Baby Shower? It's coming up on November 8! You'll just need to sign up by Friday, October 30 to participate. This event is free for all clients. (It's also free and simple to become a client, if you're not already.) These showers, held twice a year, provide our clients with so many necessary items for baby, and some treats for mom, too! Call us to learn more, get registered or to make your appointment to become a client!

Today, Birthright of Columbia gives a heartfelt thank-you to Courtney and Gina, two incredible volunteers, for their years of faithful service to our pregnancy center. Courtney has served for five years, and Gina for seven. Their compassion, time, and dedication have made a lasting difference in the lives of so many women, babies, and families.

We’ll miss having them with us, but we’re excited for Courtney as she will get to devote more time to her family and for Gina as she moves closer to the special people in her life, to spend time with them.

Thank you both for all you’ve given to our ministry. You have been a blessing to our center, and we wish you joy in this next chapter! ❤️

Are you breastfeeding or pumping, and need some support? Birthright now has a Lactation Support Group, led by a Lactation Consulting, and including other moms who are on the same journey. Come and share how you feel, learn from other's experiences, and get the help you need from a professional! The best part? It's completely free to our clients! All you have to do it call to sign up! Our next meeting is November 19!
