🚨 BUILDING SKILLS. SAVING LIVES. STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES.

When seconds count, preparation can make all the difference.

Last Thursday and Friday, sworn and civilian personnel from the East Texas A&M University Police Department partnered with the East Texas A&M Law Enforcement Training Academy to support Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) for academy recruits.

Through realistic, scenario-based training, these future officers gained valuable experience and developed critical skills needed to respond to active shooter incidents and other life-threatening emergencies.

The impact of this training extends far beyond the academy. Every officer who enters the profession better prepared to respond to a critical incident represents a stronger commitment to the safety of the communities they will one day serve.

We're proud of our UPD team for sharing their time, knowledge, and experience to help prepare the next generation of law enforcement professionals.

Better training. Better prepared officers. Safer communities.

🦁💙💛 See Something, Say Something. Protect the Pride.

PHONE SPOOFING SCAM ALERT

The East Texas A&M University Police Department is alerting students, faculty, and staff to a phone scam in which callers impersonate law enforcement officers.

Texas A&M University Police Department in College Station has reported scam calls involving Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas A&M International University, and Texas A&M University-Victoria. Callers have contacted individuals and university departments, claimed to be calling about an investigation, requested in-person meetings, and threatened arrest unless banking information was provided. Some have used the names of actual police officials.

Scammers are manipulating caller ID to display phone numbers associated with Texas A&M University System police departments. This practice, known as phone spoofing, makes a fraudulent call appear legitimate. A familiar number or an actual officer’s name does not prove the caller is who they claim to be.

Our officers may contact you about an investigation, but we will not call to demand payment for a citation or warrant, or threaten arrest to obtain your banking information.

If you receive a suspicious call:

Do not provide banking information, passwords, verification codes, or other personal information.

Do not send money or agree to meet until you have independently verified the caller.

Hang up. Do not use a callback number provided by the caller or rely on your call history.

Call East Texas A&M University Police Department directly at 903-886-5868 to verify the call and report what happened.

If you have already provided banking information or sent money, contact your financial institution immediately and report the incident to UPD.

See something, say something. Protect the Pride.
