What a tremendous and well-deserved honor for Conway’s own William Theodius “Bill” Mattison! As one of six Arkansas aviators associated with the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II, Mr. Mattison will be inducted into the Arkansas Aviation Hall of Fame this fall.

Mr. Mattison is also recognized in the City of Conway’s Martin Luther King Jr. Square Park, located on Markham Street, honoring his legacy and contributions to our community and our nation.

This recognition is a fitting tribute to a remarkable individual whose service and legacy deserve to be celebrated. Congratulations to Mr. William Theodius “Bill” Mattison on this truly honorable and historic achievement!

Now accepting applications!

The City of Conway is now accepting applications for a variety of volunteer positions on its boards and commissions for the 2027 term. This annual opportunity allows Conway residents to become more involved in local government and work alongside city officials to improve the quality of life in our community.

Residents interested in serving are encouraged to review the available openings and apply for the board or commission that best matches their interests and experience. Applications must be submitted by Monday, November 2, 2026.
