A teen’s inexperience behind the wheel makes them more susceptible to crashes.

Specific risk factors for teens behind the wheel include: alcohol and drug use, not wearing a seat belt, distracted driving, additional passengers, speeding, and drowsy driving.

For Parents - Remind your teen that driving is a privilege, not a right. As the parent, you’re in control. If they aren’t following the rules of the road, they shouldn’t be freely given the keys to the car. Remember, their inexperience puts them and others at risk.
