Per DOTD,LA 21 Southbound,US 190 BUS Eastbound,US 190 BUS Westbound

Start Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 8:00 AM
End Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 5:00 PM
(Weather Permitting)
Closure Type: Roadwork
Lanes Affected: Partial Closure/ Left Lane
Start Cross Street: Turning Lanes at the Intersection of LA 21 (S Tyler St) and US 190B
End Cross Street: Turning Lanes at the Intersection of LA 21 (S Tyler St) and US 190B
Detour/Alternate Route: No detour will be in place; however, motorists may want to use an alternate route.
Restrictions: Turning lanes on LA 21 (S Tyler St) and US 190B will be closed. There will be no vehicle restrictions, and emergency vehicles will have access to LA 21 (S Tyler St) and US 190B). Motorists may encounter a moderate to heavy delay during this time.

Ingress and egress is the jurisdiction of LA DOTD as 21st Ave. is also LA State Hwy. 21 and US Business Hwy. 190. Egress into the red bean-about is eliminated. Ingress southbound on Jefferson is right turn-in only. Ingress and egress will be allowed on 21st Ave. Again, the design is approved by DOTD, not the City.

Covington High has advanced to the South Division finals of T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights competition after successfully winning both the $5,000 and $25,000 rounds!

They are now competing for a prize package that includes $250,000, a weight room renovation and an additional $5,000 student leadership award. That's good stuff.
