🚔💙 Happy National First Responders Day! 💙🚔

Who says being a police officer means you can’t be a kid at heart? 😂

Today, we’re celebrating National First Responders Day with a little help from Officer Cox at Nola K Wilson Elementary!

Whether he’s in the classroom, hanging out in the cafeteria, or enjoying some playground time, Officer Cox reminds us that school policing is about more than wearing a badge.

It’s about building relationships, earning trust, creating memories, and being part of the school community.

🚔💛🖤 Welcome to the Pirate Family, Officer John Gill!

Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the Crandall ISD Police Department, Officer John Gill, who was officially sworn in today!

Officer Gill proudly served our country as a United States Marine and brings valuable law enforcement experience from his time with the Sunnyvale Police Department.

We are excited to have an officer who understands that school-based policing is about more than enforcing the law. It’s about building relationships, earning trust, and being a positive influence in the lives of our students.

We know Officer Gill will be a tremendous addition to our department and the Pirate community!

Welcome aboard, Officer Gill!🏴‍☠️

WE ARE HIRING!

If you enjoy making genuine connections with kids, being visible on campus, and becoming a trusted part of the school community, we may have a place for you. Our officers work side-by-side with campus administrators, and we want officers who are ready to be the right-hand person to their principal when it comes to safety, problem-solving, and taking care of their campus.

If you’re the kind of officer who loves training, wants to keep your skills sharp, and believes there’s always something more to learn, come talk to us. We have 19 in-service training days built into our calendar because we believe our officers deserve the time and opportunity to train.

Visit us at www.crandall-isd.net/jobs and fill out an application online to start the process.

🏴‍☠️ Pirate Leaders in Action! 🏴‍☠️

Exciting things are happening across Crandall ISD! All of our elementary schools will be launching their very own School Safety Patrol programs in the coming weeks!

The photos below feature the amazing students at Hollis T. Dietz Elementary, whose School Safety Patrol kicked off this week! Dietz School Safety Patrol went from 14 students who volunteered last school year to 30+ students who volunteered this year! These students are stepping up to make a difference and lead by example.

The mission of School Safety Patrol is to develop our students into strong Pirate leaders who serve their school and community while helping ensure the safety of fellow students, parents, and families during morning arrival.

We are incredibly proud of these young Pirates for taking on this important responsibility and showing what it means to lead, serve, and look out for one another!

Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate! 🏴‍☠️

Game Day Safety 🏴‍☠️🐕‍🦺

Before our varsity football games, K9 Vix and his handler conduct a thorough sweep of the stadium and surrounding areas. Vix works through the stands, concession areas, locker rooms, and other locations while checking bags, unattended items, and areas of concern before Pirate Nation arrives.

Our home opener on September 11 carried additional significance, making those behind-the-scenes security measures especially important.

Vix is highly trained in fi***rm and explosive detection, adding another layer of safety to our events and helping us provide a secure environment for our students, staff, families, and community.

And judging by the photos, Vix absolutely loves going to work. By the time the stadium sweep was finished, though, he was one tired K9! Most people never see the preparation that takes place before the gates open, but safety starts long before kickoff.
