For some teens and young adults, managing school, relationships, emotions, and daily responsibilities can feel overwhelming. ADHD can be one piece of that picture, and so can stress, anxiety, trauma, or other challenges.
When people don't feel supported or don't know where to turn, they may look for ways to cope that aren't safe or helpful in the long run.
Prevention isn't just about telling people what NOT to do. It's also about making sure they have support, healthy coping skills, and access to care.
Let's work toward being the people who listen before we judge.

ADHD IS MORE THAN BEING DISTRACTED
ADHD can affect attention, impulse control, organization, emotional regulation, and everyday life. For some people, it can mean constantly working harder to manage things that seem easy for others.
When we understand ADHD better, we can replace judgment with support and make it easier for people to ask for help when they need it.
Why does this matter in substance use prevention? Because understanding someone's needs, supporting their mental health, and helping them access appropriate care are important parts of prevention.
This week, we're talking about ADHD, stimulant misuse, and how families and communities can help.
What is one thing you wish more people understood about ADHD?
