🪶 This 1900 photograph shows a council of Cheyenne and Arapaho gathered with an agent at Seger Colony in western Oklahoma. The colony began in 1886, when Indian agent Jesse Lee asked John Homer Seger to lead 120 Arapaho west to establish an agricultural community on Cobb Creek.

In 1893 Seger founded an industrial training school there, and in 1896 the colony was renamed Colony, the name the town of Colony in Wash*ta County still carries today.
