The Darlington Area Recreation Department hosted its annual Scare on the Square event in downtown Darlington on Thursday evening, and incredibly, it featured a record attendance. Thousands of families lined the Public Square.

Huge thanks to the 40 businesses that handed out candy. Memories were made, and children went home with bags full of candy this Halloween week.

Thank you Darlington again for another very successful turnout for our Scare on the Square event! This becomes bigger every year, and we couldn't do it with out the participation from our community! Thank you to each and every participant, from all of our vendors listed below, to each community member that got a piece of candy or two! Special thanks to the City of Darlington Police and Fire Department for always being there, and thank you to the Darlington High JROTC for coming out and lending a hand!!! We'll see you again next year, October 28, 2027!

Today is the big day! Head on down to the Square in Darlington, SC tonight at 5 PM for Scare on the Square, Darlington Recreation's annual trick-or-treat event. After the sun sets we will play a movie in the square- this year's movie is Hocus Pocus. Make sure to bring a chair or blanket if you plan on staying for the movie!
