IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING MEALS ON WHEELS

Meals on Wheels & More of Morgan County continues to accept applications and referrals for our Meals on Wheels program. At this time, however, our delivery routes are at full capacity, and we are unable to immediately enroll new participants.

Individuals who apply will be placed on our waiting list and contacted as soon as an opening becomes available. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to serve our community with the resources currently available.

In September, Jesse Gonzalez of our IT Team went back to Studio 60 Senior Center for our latest class in our Senior Planet program!

Jesse recently led an important and eye-opening session on scam awareness and fraud detection. He empowered attendees with the knowledge and tools to recognize red flags, identify and prevent potential scams, and remember one important rule: if something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

We loved seeing how engaged and involved everyone was throughout the session. Attendees actively participated in the discussion, asked questions, and even shared personal experiences with scams and fraud they have encountered.

A huge thank you to Studio 60 for welcoming us back and allowing us to continue building this partnership. We look forward to many more opportunities to learn, connect, and serve together in the future!

Earlier this month, Russellville Head Start welcomed us to their center for one of the most wholesome full-circle moments we’ve experienced!

Aleo Wallace, a firefighter with the Russellville Fire Department and his wife, Caitlin, recently wrote and illustrated a children’s book titled "A Day at the Fire Station with Dad." The book introduces children to the importance of fire safety in a fun and engaging way.

But here’s what makes this story extra special: Aleo’s daughter is currently enrolled at Russellville Head Start, the very same program Aleo attended as a child! And if that isn’t special enough, his daughter even has the same teacher he had when he was a Head Start student!

From a Head Start student to a firefighter and published children’s book author, Aleo’s story is a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact Head Start can have on children, families, and entire communities. Now, his daughter is creating her own memories in the very program that was once part of his childhood.

This is what Head Start is all about: building strong foundations, nurturing generations, and creating lasting connections that come full circle. We are so grateful to Russellville Head Start for sharing this special moment with us!
