Desiree Jennings, President and CEO of The Children’s Center, accepted the 2026 Award for Advancing Minority Mental Health on behalf of our organization at the 2026 Awards for Advancing Minority Mental Health Ceremony hosted by the American Psychiatric Association Foundation 🤍

This national recognition honors our commitment to expanding access to quality mental and behavioral health care for children and families in underserved communities.

We are incredibly proud of our team and grateful to our community of supporters who help make this work possible every day. Together, we are creating brighter futures for children and families across Detroit and Wayne County.

🌟 Shining Star Alert: Pam Barnett! 🌟

Pam consistently brings a can-do attitude and strong dedication to her work. During our COA Accreditation review, she confidently stepped into unfamiliar areas and helped ensure TCC’s high standards were reflected in the quality of our work.

Her curiosity and problem-solving mindset continue to strengthen our agency, as she works to support data-driven decisions and help leadership better understand complex processes that move our mission forward.
Even while balancing multiple projects and deadlines, Pam remains a positive, professional, and collaborative team member who inspires those around her to stay curious and engaged.

Thank you, Pam, for being a true Shining Star! 💙✨

Our Readers and Creators Girls Edition was all about curiosity, confidence, and fun 💫

The girls read The Amazing Power of Girls: Meet the Universe's Most Powerful and Invisible Forces! by Maria Marianayagam, a STEM-focused story that connects science concepts like gravity, magnetism, and friction to the everyday strength of girls.

After the story, they jumped into a hands-on STEM activity to bring those ideas to life and explore science in action.

Moments like these at The Children’s Center help kids see their own power, creativity, and potential 🤍

A huge thank you to GE Aerospace for rolling up your sleeves and spending the day with us at The Children’s Center!

Your team jumped right in to help with spring cleaning across our campus, from raking and shoveling outdoors to adding fresh paint to our rock garden and playground path. Every task, big and small, helped make our spaces brighter, cleaner, and more welcoming for the children and families we serve at The Children’s Center.

We are so grateful for your hard work and heart for service. Our campus truly feels better because of you 🤍
