Rick Farley has decided to transfer the Commander gavel and spend more time pursuing his many other interests. Rick has been an integral part of the American Legion Post 673 for the past 34 years, and it's past and present Commander for approximately 20 years. He has seen the Post grow and shrink, and grow again. He was integral in keeping the Post up and running during the Covid crisis, when so many other Organizations ceased operation. He has been been an inspirational leader and his legacy of integrity and passion will continue to guide us for many years to come. We are deeply grateful for the vision, dedication, and humor he brought to our Post. He will be missed as our Commander.

I would like to welcome Sharon Fisher as our new Commander. Sharon has been with the Post for 16 years and has held the positions of Adjutant, and First Vice Commander. She is also a member of the American Legions Riders, Chapter 673 where she is known as Grammie. Sharon brings a wealth of experience to the Post having served in multiple Post positions over the years. Welcome Sharon.

🩸 Durham American Legion Blood Drive – Amazing Results! 🩸

WOW — what an incredible blood drive! 💪👏
We had 20 successful donors and collected:

❤️ 16 Whole Blood donations
🔴 4 Power Red donations
💛 2 Plasma donations

That’s a total of 26 lifesaving units of blood — and YOU beat projection! Absolutely GREAT JOB! 🎉

Because of your generosity, these donations will help 78 hospital patients, which is especially critical during the ongoing blood shortage. We truly cannot say thank you enough to everyone who showed up and rolled up their sleeves. ❤️

📌 Notes from the drive:
• 0 no-shows — WOW!
• 1 deferral
• 4 Power Reds — Amazing!

📊 Totals for the Year:
• 2 Blood Drives
• 53 units collected
• 159 potential lives saved

Now that is something to be incredibly proud of! Thank you to our donors, volunteers, and supporters for making such a powerful impact in our community. 🇺🇸💙
