Due to the storm knocking trees and wires down the following roads are closed:
-Durham Point Road, at Colony Cove
-Littlehale Road
Due to Eversource’s high call volume there is no estimated time the roads will reopen.

We have been notified of a road closure in Newmarket that is effecting through traffic on Packers Falls Road. At this time, the road remains closed (even though the post says the road is re-opening at 4PM). Please monitor Newmarket Police Department for further updates if you are traveling through that area.

PACKERS FALLS ROAD IS OPEN FOR TRAFFIC
Packers Falls Rd has been closed between Elm St and Mastin Dr due to unforeseen complications with on-going roadwork in the area. Currently it is anticipated that the road will be re-opened by 3:00pm. Please avoid the area. We will post updates in the event of any changes to this plan.

Press Release - Tractor Trailer Rollover on Route 4
On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 8:59 a.m., the Durham Police Department, Durham Fire Department, McGregor EMS, and New Hampshire State Police responded to Route 4, just west of Cedar Point Road, for a tractor-trailer rollover crash.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lane of travel and resulted in significant front-end damage to the truck’s cab compartment. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The driver was extricated from the cab by emergency personnel and transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Route 4 remained closed for several hours and reopened at approximately 2:50 p.m.
The identity of the driver is being withheld at this time, as the crash remains under investigation.

This week, Durham Police were treated to a special gift basket with all the shift essentials an officer could need – notebooks, hand sanitizer, candy and sweet treats! Courtesy of Harmony Homes, the residents and staff prepared the basket to present to Durham Police Officers in honor of First Responder Appreciation week.
