Happy Halloween from PCBDD!

This Tuesday we closed out our 2026 year of Advocacy meetings with a Regional Meeting hosted by the PCBDD Advocacy Group. In the spirit of the season the topic was "Rights and Frights" focusing on the rights we have with a holiday twist.

We were so excited to recognize some of the group who came dressed up with a halloween contest award. We also awarded our last advocates of the month for this year, recognizing advocates who have gone above and beyond at the September meeting, October meeting and who have been overall an outstanding advocate in 2026.

Have a great Halloween and we cannot wait to see what the PCBDD Advocacy group gets up to in 2027!

Last week, seven individuals, two family members, three DSPs, and four PCBDD staff attended the Synergy-Ohio Conference in Sandusky, Ohio!

We had a great time learning from presentations, meeting new people, networking with partner organizations, and most importantly, spending time together and making memories. It was a great few days of learning, connection, and fun!

Take a look at some of our favorite moments from Synergy 2026.

A few photos to recap this past week!

PCBDD had the opportunity to celebrate and recognize the Direct Support Professionals who make a difference every day. Throughout DSP Appreciation Week, we delivered nearly 300 appreciation gift bags to DSPs across Preble County as a small way to say thank you for the dedication, compassion, and support they provide to the people we serve.

To every Direct Support Professional who shows up, supports, advocates, encourages, and makes a difference each day, thank you for all that you do.

We appreciate you not just this week, but every day.

DSP Spotlight: Matt Drake & Lindsey Arcuragi

This week, we are proud to recognize Matt Drake and Lindsey Arcuragi, DSPs at The Home Farm, for their dedication and commitment to the individuals they support.

Matt and Lindsey were nominated by SSA Savannah Thompson, who recognized them for consistently going above and beyond in providing one-on-one support. They assist with appointments, encourage community involvement, and help the individuals they support take part in activities and outings they enjoy.

They make it a priority to ensure the people they support feel comfortable, respected, and heard. As strong advocates, Matt and Lindsey work hard to support the individuals in reaching their goals and achieving the best possible outcomes.

Their kindness, patience, and positive attitudes bring light to those around them and make a meaningful difference every day.

Thank you, Matt and Lindsey, for the care, encouragement, and advocacy you bring to your work!

DSP Spotlight: Shi-Ann Creech

This week, we are proud to recognize Shi-Ann Creech for the kindness, compassion, and positivity she brings to the individuals she supports and the people she works alongside.

Shi-Ann was nominated by her coworker, Sabrina Young, who shared that Shi-Ann truly represents what it means to be a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional. She brings a smile and positive attitude wherever she goes, treating the individuals she supports with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect.

The people Shi-Ann supports adore her, and it is clear that she takes the time to make them feel valued and cared for. She brings that same kindness to her coworkers, always greeting staff with a smile and being someone they can count on.

DSP work is not always easy, and much of what they do happens behind the scenes. Shi-Ann's dedication and joyful spirit make a meaningful difference every day.

Congratulations, Shi-Ann, and thank you for all that you do!
