On Tuesday, October 20th, a couple from the country of Hungary made a special trip to Eatonton to visit our Uncle Remus Museum. They shared with our hostess, Lynda Walker that the Uncle Remus stories were read to them growing up and recognized the very same book in our display case. (See photo). In 1967, the stories were shown on Hungarian national television every night at 7 pm.
On any given week, the museum may have visitors from throughout Georgia, any of our fifty states and as you can see, from countries around the world.
