Albemarle Area United Way: Strengthening Communities Across Northeastern North Carolina
The Albemarle Area United Way is a trusted nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life across nine counties in Northeastern North Carolina: Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Pasquotank, and Perquimans.

Through strategic partnerships with over 20 local agencies— including the Food Bank of the Albemarle, Albemarle Hopeline, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and the YMCA—we support vital programs that address food insecurity, youth development, domestic violence prevention, and community wellness.

We are proud to introduce the Community Care Collaborative, a targeted initiative designed to provide emergency assistance to individuals and families experiencing temporary crises in Camden, Pasquotank, and Perquimans counties.

At Albemarle Area United Way, we believe in the power of collaboration to create lasting impact. Join us in building stronger, healthier communities throughout Northeastern North Carolina.

We've checked the community, and the scariest things this Halloween aren't ghosts, goblins, or witches...
😱 Empty food pantries. 😱 Families struggling to make ends meet. 😱 Neighbors facing challenges alone.
The good news? We have a powerful spell to fight those scary situations:
Community. Compassion. Generosity.
When you support Albemarle Area United Way, you're helping turn frightening situations into stories of hope. No broomsticks, crystal balls, or magic wands required!
This Halloween, let's make a difference that's more treat than trick.

Happy National Candy Corn Day!
Candy corn is one of those treats that seems to divide people into two groups: those who love it and those who wonder why it still exists!
But no matter where you stand in the great candy corn debate, its colors remind us of something special: 🧡 Orange for the energy and passion of our community. 💛 Yellow for the hope and optimism we share. 🤍 White for the kindness and generosity that bring us together.
At the Albemarle Area United Way, we know that communities are a lot like a handful of candy corn. Different people, different perspectives, and different favorites, all coming together to create something sweet.
So tell us: Are you Team Candy Corn or Team No Thanks

Happy National Internet Day!
Remember when finding information meant pulling out a set of encyclopedias and flipping through pages from A to Z? If you couldn't find what you needed, it was off to the library you went!
Today, the internet puts information at our fingertips in seconds. But one thing hasn't changed: the importance of connecting people to the resources they need.
At Albemarle Area United Way, we're helping connect our neighbors with local programs, services, and support that make our communities stronger. Whether it's through a click, a call, or a caring hand, connection matters.
Here's to how far we've come and to continuing to connect people with hope and opportunity!

Do you ever really look at the wreaths on people's doors?
There's something special about a fall wreath. Made up of different leaves, colors, berries, and ribbons, each piece comes together to create something beautiful.
Our community is a lot like that.
At the Albemarle Area United Way, people from all walks of life come together, each bringing their own gifts, talents, and generosity to strengthen our region. Individually, we're unique. Together, we create a welcoming circle of support for our neighbors.
As you admire the fall wreaths decorating doors this season, remember that every act of kindness, volunteer hour, and donation helps weave a stronger community.
Together, we're creating a community that welcomes everyone.

Halloween is just around the corner, and we're all making our final decisions on the important things...
Which candy to keep for ourselves. Which pumpkin looks the least lopsided. And whether that strange noise was a ghost... or just the neighbor's cat.
At Albemarle Area United Way, we know the real magic isn't in costumes or candy. It's the magic of knowing someone is there for you.
So as you're enjoying the fall fun, remember: kindness never goes out of season.
Happy October 26th from all of us at Albemarle Area United Way!

💙 National I Care About You Day 💙
Today is a reminder that sometimes the simplest words can make the biggest difference: "I care about you."
At Albemarle Area United Way, caring is at the heart of everything we do. Through the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, we help ensure that our neighbors know they are seen, supported, and valued.
Whether it's lending a helping hand, making a donation, or simply checking in on someone, every act of kindness shows we care.
Because when we care for one another, our entire community grows stronger.

Today, on United Nations Day, we celebrate the power of people coming together to create a better world. The United Nations was founded on the belief that cooperation, compassion, and collective action can help solve challenges and improve lives.
At Albemarle Area United Way, we see that same spirit at work right here in our local communities every day.
When individuals, businesses, volunteers, and partner agencies unite, we create something bigger than ourselves. Together, we help provide food for families, support for children, resources for seniors, and hope for neighbors facing difficult times.
While the United Nations focuses on building a stronger global community, United Way focuses on strengthening our local one. Both remind us that real change happens when people come together with a shared purpose.
Today, let's celebrate the impact of unity, kindness, and giving. Every volunteer hour, every donation, and every act of compassion helps build a brighter future for all.
Because when we LIVE UNITED, we can accomplish extraordinary things.

Today is National Review Day, a reminder that our words have power. Whether we're leaving a review for a local business, sharing feedback with a colleague, or offering encouragement to a friend, what we say can influence, uplift, and inspire others.
The same is true with our actions.
When you choose to donate to Albemarle Area United Way, you're making a statement about the kind of community you want to build. Your gift becomes more than a donation. It becomes a warm meal for a family, support for a child, assistance for a neighbor facing hardship, and hope for someone who needs it most.
Just as a positive review can help others decide where to go, your generosity helps guide resources to programs that are changing lives across our region.
Today, take a moment to reflect on the impact of your words and your actions. A kind comment can brighten someone's day. A thoughtful donation can change someone's future.
Together, we're creating a community where every voice matters and every act of kindness makes a difference.
💙 What will your impact be today?
