The annual Mayor for a Day contest is back! Each year, the League of Minnesota Cities hosts a writing contest for students in grades 4th - 6th to answer the prompt, "What would you do if you were mayor for a day?" Students can win $100, be recognized in Minnesota Cities magazine, and be formally recognized by the Elk River City Council. Learn more at https://bit.ly/3CIeMHA

MnDOT is hosting an Open House on Thursday, November 12, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Ramsey City Hall regarding a 2027 project on Highway 10. The work will occur between Edison Street in Elk River and Armstrong Boulevard in Ramsey.

The project begins next spring and includes repaving Highway 10, constructing J-turns at Cleveland Street/Jarvis Street, Alpine Drive, and Beatty Street. The left turn lane from westbound Highway 10 to Beatty Street will also be lengthened to improve safety. New trails and accessibility improvements will round out the project.

Congratulations to our October Volunteer of the Month, Deb Kelly! Deb has volunteered over 2,500 hours at CAER Food Shelf, keeping the shelves stocked and organized and maintaining the front desk. She also loves the pet food area, which aligns with her volunteer work at Ruff Start Rescue. Deb serves animals and tracks all donations to the organization. Thank you for all that you do!
