Animal Control recently recieved a call from city employees working along the lakefront after they spotted a small dog curled up on the rocks.
What followed was approximately 2.5 hours of tactical planning, patient negotiations, two bags of treats, and enough crouching, sitting, and baby talk to make us believe we were finally getting somewhere.
Every time we got close, something would spook her. A passing car. A gust of wind. A strange noise. Back to square one.
After exhausting just about every trick we had, one of the city workers showed up and did exactly what we'd been doing most of the afternoon. He sat down and her come to him.
That's it. That was the strategy.
Within minutes she climbed into his lap for pets and cuddles. A few minutes later, he simply picked her up and carried her away like they'd known each other for years.
Meanwhile, Animal Control was standing there with two empty treat bags, 2.5 hours invested, mouths dropped, and a rapidly developing identity crisis. 😅
So after all of that this little dog reminded us of a valuable lesson: Sometimes the mission isn't impossible... you're just not the chosen one. 😂🐾
Please note: This dog is currently NOT available for adoption.

We've seen a few comments asking for an update on Miss Bonnie, and we are so happy to report that she is doing wonderful. ❤️
Every day, more of her personality shines through.
Bonnie greets every morning with a wildly wagging tail. Sometimes she wakes her mom up in the middle of the night with kisses and other times, she confidently kicks her 170lb canine brother off the couch so she can stretch out and claim the best seat.
If there's a patch of sunshine…you’ll find Bonnie splooted, soaking up the rays. One of the biggest changes has been watching her realize she doesn't have to worry about where her next meal is coming from. She has stopped trying to devour every bit of food in sight because she now knows she'll be fed, and cared for.
This Wednesday, Bonnie will undergo surgery to correct the painful entropion affecting her eye. We're hopeful this will finally bring her some relief and help the ulcers on her eye heal.
And in other exciting Bonnie news... we finally got her DNA results back! 🧬🐾 Drop your guesses below before we reveal them!
We'll be sure to update everyone after her surgery and share her DNA results. Thank you to everyone who has followed her journey, cheered her on, donated, shared her story, and loved her from afar. Bonnie may not realize how many people are rooting for her, but we do—and we are so grateful for every one of you. ❤️

🐾 Trails & Tails was a success!🐾
We are still waiting on some photos from the event, but we wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported our shelter dogs this weekend.
Because of your support, we were able to get 11+ shelter dogs out of their kennels and onto the trails for an afternoon of fresh air, adventure, new sights, and plenty of love. After their walk, every pup got to enjoy a well-earned pup cup, and judging by the happy faces, we'd say they were a big hit! 🍦🐶
A huge thank you to our partners at Lakeland Animal Clinic and Urgent Care and Gather & Ground for helping make this event possible, and to
Unrefined CLEV for providing the delicious food.
Most importantly, thank you to the volunteers, supporters, and community members who spent part of their day helping our dogs experience something beyond the kennel walls. Days like these are so important for their enrichment, confidence, and overall well-being.
We can't wait to share the photos once they come in. Until then, just know that there were a lot of wagging tails, happy smiles, and very tired shelter dogs by the end of the day. ❤️🐾

🐾💚 A big thank you to Girl Scout Troop 71803! 💚🐾
The troop recently visited the Euclid Animal Shelter as part of a community service project for one of their badges. During their visit, they helped organize supplies, learned about animal welfare and shelter operations, met some of our furry residents, and even got to take a shelter dog for a walk!
We love seeing young people take an interest in helping animals and giving back to their community. Thank you, Troop 71803, for your hard work, compassion, and helping hands. We hope you had as much fun as we did! 🐶❤️

His Royal Thickness, Lord Ribeye III. 👑🥩
Built like a baked potato with legs.
Head empty.
Heart full.
Absolutely convinced every person he meets was put on this earth to admire him.
But behind all that beefcake energy is actually a really, really good dog. Ribeye is dog friendly, walks great on a leash, and is the kind of guy who’s happy doing just about anything — couch rotting with his people, going for adventures, soaking up attention, or just existing dramatically in your general vicinity.
He’s goofy, lovable, and full of personality… and somehow still waiting for someone to give him the home he deserves. 💔
Lord Ribeye III is available for adoption. Contact Euclid Pet Pals to set up a meet and greet
