Food for People is seeking a highly motivated professional with senior level accounting experience, preferably a CPA, to fill a part-time position as the Finance Director. Position is responsible for reviewing financial statements with the Finance Committee, preparing fiscal reports for state, federal and county contracts and overseeing financial audits. We want to highlight another one of our partners in a remote corner of Southern Humboldt: the Stone Soup Pantry in Shelter Cove! Once a month, the pantry distributes food provided by Food for People to approximately 20 households at the Shelter Cove Library. Stone Soup also partners with local businesses and community organizations to collect food and donations and host pop-up distributions to get even more food to neighbors.

We are gearing up for our annual Holiday Spirit Food and Fund Drive, and wanted to share this list of some of our most needed items. Donations can be dropped off Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm at 307 W. 14th St in Eureka, and online donations can be made anytime at foodforpeople.org/donate. Thanks for helping your neighbors in need this holiday season 🧡

We want to give a shoutout to one of our most remote sites, the Blocksburg Pantry! Once a month, the Blocksburg Town Hall opens its doors to distribute food provided by Food for People in partnership with the Bridgeville Community Resource Center. The pantry serves approximately 15 households each month, helping ensure that residents in rural southeastern Humboldt community have reliable access to nutritious food 🥦
