A replica of George Washington's home located in the South Carolina lowcountry. Built in 1937. Abandoned in approx 2002.

The Neil's purchased the home, historically known as Little Mount Vernon, on March 29, 2018... and the restoration began.

My wife just asked for my Circle K gas card. She said if she uses my card, she can save $.10 a gallon. I’m not as stupid as I look. She’s actually gonna save $3.59 a gallon!

Some folks with the Landscape Design Consultants Council of South Carolina are coming to Little Mount Vernon on October 24 for a tour at 10:00. I’m hoping to get some suggestions of how to start landscaping around the property. Others are welcome to attend. It will be interesting to hear what the council does and to meet some of those folks from around the state. Message me if you’d like to attend. Starts at 10 and then folks can stay as long as they like.

I need to find a crew of 4 who can put down some sod for me. Not at Little Mount Vernon but at the Lakehouse 3 miles away. Anybody got any suggestions?

South face of the roof is cleaned repaired retarred on the hips and 1 quart of stain applied. I’ve got one more quart. That’ll take me that much further today but I have to order some more. I’ve been putting off this second story roof and I’m glad I’m finally getting to it. It hasn’t been leaking, but it just needed to be spruced up.

Anybody needs some thick table top glass? Thought I’d ask before I haul it to the dump. A 42 inch round a 46 x 24 rectangle with rounded ends and a 41 x 41 rectangle but rounded a bitall the way around. I don’t see any chips in it.
