Wandering Rover will be cancelled again this weekend! We are welcoming new dogs into our care and moving them through the system, and hope to have the program up and running again very soon. Thank you for your understanding!

Farrah was found as a stray, severely underweight and dehydrated, but still bright and determined. During her exam, our veterinary team discovered something extraordinary.

The x-rays revealed the remains of at least two unborn kittens, with tiny bones scattered throughout her abdomen. Based on what we're seeing, Farrah likely suffered a uterine rupture long ago and somehow survived.

Despite everything her body has endured, she's still fighting.
Right now, our focus is helping Farrah regain strength, improve her hydration, and stabilize before determining the safest surgical plan.

We're so grateful she's safe and receiving the care she needs. If you'd like to help support Farrah's recovery and medical care, you can make a donation to our Fund for the Animals: everettwa.gov/shelterdonations ❤️🐾

We don't always have bottle baby puppies, but when we do...we need fosters! These babies came in at under a week old without their mom, and staff quickly got to work caring for them. It's a demanding, and rewarding, experience to take care of bottle baby pups. They are growing so fast and looking chunky and healthy! These babies are not available for adoption yet, they have more growing to do and need to grow big enough to undergo spay/neuter surgery, but we know their playful, puppy personalities will soon shine!

Interested in fostering? Check out our website: https://www.everettwa.gov/181/Become-a-Foster-Parent

Happy Sunday, happy tail!

"They are doing great! Nori is slowly coming out of her shell. She loves toys she can chase & brushing is her favorite bedtime activity. Cosmo made himself at home almost instantly. He is very smart. He brings us toys in the middle of the night. Such a good little "hunter." We had our 1st vet visit & have a plan to work on their weight slowly."

Tadpole ordered a Westie costume online.

This is what arrived.

To be fair, he thinks it works. And honestly? The confidence is inspiring.

Behind the wig is a 73-pound Doberman/Lab mix who loves life, loves adventure, and is looking for an experienced home ready to help him channel all that enthusiasm into becoming the best dog he can be.

Today is the final day of our fee-waived adoption event thanks to the ASPCA. Come meet Tadpole and all of our fabulous Not-Westies before the event comes to an end.

Disclaimer: This photo was created with AI for our Not-Westie Festie campaign. While some pets modeled real wigs like pros, Tadpole's fabulous hairstyle is entirely digital. 😄

🐾 No Wandering Rover this weekend! 🐾

There will be no Wandering Rover this weekend, Saturday 10/24 and Sunday 10/25. We want to keep as many dogs on site as possible for our adoption event on Saturday and we're putting good vibes out into the universe that they will all get adopted and no one will be available for Sunday's Rover! 🤞

Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you Pam Tends To for this great video of all the amazing shelter pets with waived adoption fees today and tomorrow, 2pm to 5pm!

While we may make fun jokes about our cats and dogs not being Westies, the truth is we have so many wonderful pets that are deserving of a fresh start.

Come see us today and tomorrow for our Fee Waived Adoption Event: The Not-Westie Festie!

BREAKING NEWS: Local shelter dog attempts to pass herself off as a Westie.
After hearing about the 350 applications for the Westies, Laney took matters into her own paws.

Evidence includes:

One fluffy white wig
Questionable Westie credentials
Extremely high levels of cuteness

At 6 months old, Laney is an active Aussie mix with a big personality and an even bigger future ahead of her. She's looking for an experienced home ready for puppy adventures, training, and plenty of fun.

Meet Laney during our fee-waived adoption event, happening today and tomorrow from 2pm to 5pm thanks to the ASPCA's Rescue Effect.

The Westies may be gone, but the perfect pet for you might be waiting right here. 🤍

Disclaimer: No actual dogs were forced to wear wigs for this photo. The wig was added with a little AI magic because, as it turns out, most dogs would prefer treats over costume fittings.
