Who We are....we are your neighbors, friends, and community members. We look after our communities safety, not because we have too, but because we want too.

We come from all walks of life; mechanics, janitors, pharmacists, nurses, bankers, mothers, security personnel, safety professions, farmers, aid workers, educators, phlebotomists, students, retail professionals, computer programmers, and grocers just to name a few. We recognize the importance of someone being there to help anytime, day or night, without fail, we are here to help.

Last night our EMT class participated in an MCI (Mass Casualty Incident) training event. They learned a lot and had a bit of fun along the way. Thank you to all the "casualties" and others who helped out. A big thank you to the Church and bus. We couldn't have done it without you all.

Community Notice!

This Thursday, our EMT students will be participating in hands-on trauma simulations at various locations throughout the community, including the football field.

We kindly ask that if you see the students participating in these scenarios, please allow them the space to focus and complete ther training without interruptions. These simulations are an important part of their education and help prepare them to respond and better serve our communities.

We appreciate your understanding and support as our students continue learning and developing their skills.

We are a little over halfway through the EMT course, and last night was our big medical patient scenario night. Our students were broken up into 3 to 4 member teams and sent out to different volunteer patient sites to make decisions on patients with medical issues. Thank you to all our volunteers for offering your homes and family members or friends to be the patients.
It was a great learning experience!

Lifesaver award (CPR save)

The cardiac arrest save designation is intended to recognize EMS responders or bystanders that assist with quality CPR that results in successful resuscitation of a patient.

On Monday night at our monthly meeting and education training, three of our own were recognized for a "save". While most of us don't do this for the recognition and don't want it, it is always nice to hear and be recognized.

And so begins the next generation of EMTs. Class number 1. These students will be meeting every Thursday until the end of November. When they pass the course, they will be eligible to sit for the NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician) exam.

Today, the Eyota Ambulance crew had the opportunity to go over to SACC at the Elementary school to see the kids and let them play with some of the equipment in the ambulance.

During the chicken feed, come into the garage and wander around to see the 50 year history of the Ambulance Service and the 150 years of Eyota!
