VARIOUS NOTIFICATIONS - FANWOOD P.D.

HALLOWEEN ROAD CLOSURES & PARADE

The Halloween Parade will occur from 6:15 PM to 6:45 PM on Saturday, October 31st in the Borough of Fanwood. During this time, we will be closing Martine Avenue from North Avenue to Marian Avenue, and Marian Avenue will be shut down in its entirety. Second Street (from LaGrande Ave to Herbert Ave) will also be closed. There are "No Parking" restrictions along the parade route.

Police personnel will manage these closures by sealing off sections of the route one at a time, allowing traffic to still travel through as efficiently as possible.

Additionally, to ensure pedestrian safety around LaGrande Park during peak trick-or-treating hours, we are implementing strict parking restrictions. "No Parking" signs will be placed on Helen Street (from LaGrande Avenue to King Street) from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and barricades will be used to limit vehicles entering the immediate area. We strongly suggest you avoid driving near LaGrande Park during these peak times. There will be zero tolerance for parking violations.

2027 TRAIN STATION PERMIT INFORMATION

Train station permits for Fanwood residents go on sale this Monday, November 2, at 7:00am. Out-of-town residents may purchase permits beginning on Monday, November 16, at 7:00am. Please visit the Borough's website at https://fanwoodnj.org/2026-parking-permit-sales/ to purchase your permit.

NOVEMBER 1 VENDOR FAIR - PARKING RESTRICTIONS

No vehicles will be allowed to park at the southside Fanwood Train Station on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 7:00am - 5:00pm. Vehicles left in the lot are subject to summonses and/or impound.

The Halloween Parade will occur from 6:15 PM to 6:45 PM on Saturday, October 31st in the Borough of Fanwood. 2027 Parking Permits for the Fanwood Train Station go on sale on the following dates:

Fanwood Residents: November 2, 2026 at 7:00am
Out-of-Town Residents: November 16, 2026 at 7:00am.

Halloween falls on a weekend this year, and that means lots of kids out for longer trick-or-treating. It’s important to remind your children of some basic safety tips when going out this Saturday.

Go with a Grown-Up! Younger children should always trick-or-treat with a responsible adult.

Stay on Well-Lit Paths! Stick to sidewalks and well-lit areas. Bring a flashlight to help you see and be seen.

Cross Streets Carefully! Look both ways before crossing and use crosswalks whenever possible.

Check Your Candy! An adult should inspect all treats before eating them. Discard anything unwrapped, opened, or suspicious.

Be Visible! Wear bright costumes or add reflective tape so drivers can see you easily.

Know Your Route! Plan your trick-or-treating route in advance and stick to familiar neighborhoods.

A huge shoutout to the Fanwood community for making this the most successful Police and Pumpkins yet! We saw you make vampire pumpkins, skeleton pumpkins, and even a Yoda pumpkin! We can’t wait to make this event even bigger next year!

We also want to thank 1874 Coffee Company for keeping us warm with coffee and hot chocolate. You guys rock.

Police and Pumpkins is back for 2026! Stop by, grab a pumpkin, and meet your Fanwood Police officers! The first 75 kids will get a free pumpkin and all the fixings to decorate them. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided by 1874 Coffee Company too.
