It is with heavy hearts that we hear of the passing of former Volunteer Lieutenant Gregory "Greg" E. Aylor.

Lt. Aylor served our department and community with dedication, integrity, and a true passion for helping others. During his years of service, he made a lasting impact not only through leadership and commitment, but also through the friendships and memories built along the way.

Training never stops when it comes to keeping our community safe.

This week, four of our department members attended Hazardous Materials (HazMat) training to sharpen their skills and enhance their ability to respond to complex and
potentially dangerous situations. From chemical spills to unknown substances, this training helps ensure we’re ready for whatever comes our way.

This week, Florence Fire/EMS would like to recognize and celebrate our incredible dispatchers during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Our dispatchers are the calm in the chaos—the first voice you hear in an emergency and the vital link between those in need and those responding. Their professionalism, quick thinking, and unwavering dedication keep our crews informed, prepared, and safe every single day.
