A reminder that on this Tuesday, October 27th, the County Board will convene at 6:00 pm. A public hearing is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm in regard to my proposed 2027 County budget. The public has the opportunity at that time to address the County Board to provide their comments on the budget. As I previously stated the proposed budget is balanced and the County mill rate will once again decrease. My proposed budget can be found on our County webpage.

One of our great family places to enjoy in FDL County each year is Little Farmer. We all look forward to the caramel apples! Make sure to get the kids out this weekend and enjoy the wonderful fall colors. If you hit the coffee shop you have to try the Black Forest Mocha.

Last night, pursuant to Wisconsin Statute Chapter 59, I presented my proposed Fond du Lac County 2027 balanced budget to the County Board. My budget message can be found at http://www.fdlco.wi.gov/2027budgetmessage

The Finance Committee will hold its budget hearing on October 20, 2026 at the City-County Government Center starting at 8:30 a.m. The hearing for public comment on the budget is scheduled to be held at the County Board meeting on October 27, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. The County Board will vote on the budget at their November 5, 2027 meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.

Pursuant to my responsibility and authority under Chapter 59 of the Wisconsin State Statutes, I present for your consideration my proposed 2027 Fond du Lac County budget.

Yesterday I was able to join our new Parks Director, Dean Kaderabek, to tour and inspect work completed at Hobbs Woods, Laudolff Ledge Conservation Area and Shaginappi Park. We have an amazing County Park system and would put it up against any other County in the state. As we move further into fall take the family out and explore the beauty of our parks as colors change.
