Thank you, RHI Legacy Foundation!! 😊

FUTURE FOCUSED FRIDAY | Investing in Students, One Backpack at a Time!

A brighter future begins when students have the resources they need to succeed!

Yesterday, the Rutherford County Schools Education Foundation (RCSEF) was honored to attend the RHI Legacy Foundation Grant Awards Ceremony, where we were recognized alongside many other outstanding organizations making a difference throughout our community.

We are especially grateful that our Backpack Program was once again selected as the recipient of TWO grants this year!

Through their continued generosity and commitment to our community, RHI Legacy is helping us fight childhood hunger and ensure that students across Rutherford County have nutritious food to take home over the weekends.

With more than 1,000 backpacks distributed each week, this program is about so much more than food. It's about removing barriers, providing stability, and giving every child the opportunity to arrive at school on Monday ready to learn, grow, and thrive.

The RCS Education Foundation is forever grateful for RHI Legacy Foundation's continued investment in our students, our families, and their futures. We are also proud to celebrate the many other grant recipients whose work strengthens our community in countless ways.

Because when we meet the needs of children today, we build a stronger tomorrow!

Today, we had the privilege of honoring the memory of Miss June Everly Pearson.

Through a fundraiser organized by CHASE Middle School and Spindale Elementary School, our community raised $762.20 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in June’s memory. At the time the donation was made, all gifts were being matched, doubling the impact of our community’s generosity!

RCSEF was honored to partner with both schools to help collect and direct these funds to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, where they can support children and families impacted by pediatric brain tumors.

June’s parents joined the principals of CHASE Middle School and Spindale Elementary for this special presentation beside the tree planted in June’s memory. The tree serves as a lasting reminder of the love she brought to her family, her schools, and her community.

Thank you to everyone who gave, participated, and helped make this tribute possible. We are grateful to be part of a community that continues to carry June’s memory forward in such a meaningful way.

In loving memory of June Everly Pearson. 💛

TESTIMONIAL THURSDAY | Helping Hands

For Rutherford County Schools Outreach Specialists Heather Munn and Amber Wills, supporting students often means looking beyond the classroom.

Every day, they work alongside students and families facing homelessness, housing instability, financial hardship, and other challenges that can make it difficult for a child to focus on simply being a student.

Through the Helping Hands Program, an initiative of the Rutherford County Schools Education Foundation, Heather and Amber help connect families with resources when they need them most.

We are especially grateful for partners like WNC Bridge Foundation, whose recent support is helping expand Helping Hands through the Safe & Stable Homes Initiative, addressing urgent home and safety needs for local families.

Because sometimes helping a student succeed starts with making sure they have a safe, stable place to call home.

You can be part of that work. Your donation to the RCS Education Foundation helps us continue providing critical support to students and families across Rutherford County.

Give Like Dolly Day is September 25! 💛📚

Dolly Parton has always believed in dreaming big, giving back, and helping children discover a love of reading. On Give Like Dolly Day, we’re celebrating that spirit by shining a light on Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library!

Through the Imagination Library, children can receive a free, high-quality book every month from birth to age 5, helping build home libraries and a love of reading from the very beginning. 📖✨

Want to Give Like Dolly? Here are two ways to make a difference:
