Leadership Is About Being Present!

As Executive Directors, it’s easy to spend our days planted in front of a computer. Budgets, reports, emails, and administrative responsibilities are important, but being visible and present in our community is just as important.

Leadership means stepping away from the desk to connect with residents, engage with families, and support our team members. It means walking the halls, visiting the dining room, recognizing great work, and taking time to listen.

Our presence builds trust, strengthens relationships, and reinforces a culture where people feel valued.

After decades in senior living, I’ve learned that you cannot truly understand the heartbeat of your community unless you are out experiencing it.

The most meaningful moments of leadership don’t always happen behind a desk. Sometimes, they happen in a simple conversation, a listening ear, or a genuine smile.

Be visible. Be approachable. Be present. Because in senior living, our people deserve more than our leadership—they deserve our time!

This is PRICELESS!

“Fun with Fran” had our residents make Grateful Tree. Our residents make the tree and on each leaf, they wrote what they are thankful/ grateful for.
We had a great conversation about what their Thansgivings were like.
