Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation’s preschool program, serving all children ages 3-5.

We had so much fun passing out candy at J.B. Stephens Elementary School last night for the J.B. PTOs Cougar Spectacular trunk or treat event! 🍬👻

It was great to see our Cougar Cubs Preschoolers attend and catching up with former students. 🎃🍫

Fall adventures this week in Miss Ellissa’s classroom!

What better way to learn about seasonal changes than to experience them firsthand? Miss Ellissa’s room took their learning outdoors for a five senses nature walk, where they observed how the world around us is changing.

Children noticed the leaves changing colors, explored why some leaves were falling to the ground, and discovered the fun of raking them into piles and jumping in! They also paid attention to how the air felt on their skin, whether they feel the wind blowing, and the different sights, sounds, and textures of fall.

While it may have looked like a simple walk outside, there was so much learning happening!

One of the most exciting parts of early childhood education is seeing how much learning can happen through everyday experiences. Whether the children are jumping in leaves, investigating pumpkins, or sharing discoveries through art and writing, they are building important skills while making meaningful connections to the world around them.

Learning is everywhere, and sometimes the best classroom is right outside the door!

This week, Miss Kaylee’s class has been exploring the changes that come with fall, especially the beautiful leaves all around!

Yesterday, the class headed outside for a nature walk to collect some fall treasures! The children explored the area, discovering leaves of different shapes, sizes, and colors, along with sticks, pinecones, and other interesting things they found along the way.

Today, Miss Kaylee read Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert and used the story as inspiration to turn the collections into artwork! The children used their creativity and imaginations to arrange and glue their natural materials into their very own Leaf Man creations.

Throughout these activities, the children practiced observing, comparing, problem-solving, and fine motor skills, all while exploring the world around!

The staff loved seeing the children's creativity shine and how each creation was uniquely their own!

Some students from the GCHS Principles of Teaching class came to the West location to read some seasonal books to the children. Always a wonderful way to incorporate the younger and older students!
