Wondering where our links went? Here’s the short story. 🔗
Facebook and Instagram have put links behind a paywall. Our page can now share clickable links in only two posts a month, and that includes comments. To post more, Meta wants us to buy a “Meta One” subscription, priced per account, so we’d pay for Facebook and Instagram separately.
Here’s what that would cost us each year:
💲 Essential: about $360 a year → still only 2 links
💲 Advanced: about $1,200 a year → a handful more links each month
💲 Expert: about $3,600 a year → 20 Facebook links a month
💲 Max: about $12,000 a year → unlimited Facebook links
We said no.
Every dollar entrusted to the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation is meant for students and classrooms, not for a social media company’s subscription fee. So we’re saving our two monthly links for the moments that matter most.
