Early voting:

*Helps avoid crowding at the polls and makes life less stressful for our valiant pollworkers.

*Gets one more thing off your to-do list in case you or a family member gets ill, you have car trouble, etc. on actual election day.

*Gives your more flexibility on your voting location. You can vote at any early voting site, but on election day, you can only vote at your specific precinct.

*And perhaps best of all, most of the campaigns will know once you vote and thus you'll reduce the number of pesky GOTV calls, texts, emails, and door knocks you receive! The campaigns will move on to the folks who haven't voted yet.

As one local voting activist likes to say, "Each person you know, greet them with 'Hi. How are you? Have you voted yet?' If the answer is no, encourage them to vote early. All voters were mailed a sample ballot. On the front page is the Early Voting information. Refer people to their sample ballot to read the information about where to vote early."

Let's do this, people!

And this, this right here, is how our AFL-CIO makes decisions about who we endorse each election cycle: by watching not just what people say, but what they've done. For the record, we endorsed both Republicans and Democrats this year, and were happy to do so. What we don't do is support people who consistently vote against working families. Senator Bradley's time is up, she's done enough harm. Let's send a working person to Tallahassee!

Folks, a voting record is the closest thing we get to a receipt.

Here are five from Jennifer Bradley's. Look at who each vote helped, and who got left holding the bill: people working outside in the Florida heat, public employees, families without health coverage, and anyone who pays a power bill.

I've spent 20 years in the energy trade and 17 with the Community Weatherization Coalition, helping families in this district lower their power bills one house at a time. I'm running because Tallahassee keeps working for the people who write the checks instead of the people who pay the bills.
